Better Wages.

Better Roads.

Better Schools.

My name is Gregory Van Den Dries and I’m running for the Senate in Miami’s District 36 in November 2026 and I promise to put People Before Politics.

Miami deserves better than Illeana Garcia’s backroom politics. She’s failed to deliver on the basics: fair wages, safe roads, and respect for teachers. Traffic keeps getting worse. Teachers are underpaid. Workers struggle to keep up with Miami’s cost of living.

I’m running to put people—not lobbyists—first:

  • Higher minimum wages so families can thrive.

  • Fair pay for teachers to keep talent in classrooms.

  • Smarter investment in roads to end gridlock.

Garcia has failed us. It’s time for common sense, fairness, and results.

Let’s be Fair.

Our future depends on our youth. Teachers are the real Heroes, not the politicians. Let’s work together to get them fairly paid. Our future depends on it.

Bar graph comparing Miami teacher salaries and local politician salaries in 2023. Miami Mayor earns $130,000; County Commissioner earns $97,000; State Senator earns $29,697; Florida Teachers earn $54,875.

Hospitality is critical.

Tourism, restaurants and entertainment employ more people than any other industry in Miami. Let’s work to ensure that a hard working family can afford to live in our city.

Gridlock isn’t just in Miami.

Tell the politicians in Tallahassee that you’re tired of the gridlock in our government and on our streets.

We’ve all been there, stuck in traffic. Street lights that aren’t aligned. Bridge openings not on time. Construction during rush hour. It’s insane.

We’re a world class city with a 3rd world traffic problem. What we need is a Chief Traffic Officer who can tackle this problem, once and for all.

“Miami drivers are still stuck in traffic for over 30 minutes each way—longer than most Floridians, longer than most Americans. That’s not just wasted time, that’s lost paychecks, lost family dinners, lost opportunities. While Illeana Garcia plays politics in Tallahassee, our roads are falling apart. I’ll fight for smarter investment in infrastructure so our community moves forward—not sits in gridlock.”
